Nicky Eggar our mini and youth membership manager spotted that the club shop was carrying some out of date stock with unpopular necklines and some sizing issues.
Nicky has supported the Tag Rugby Trust https://tagrugbytrust.co.uk/ for a number of years particularly the work done via Esher High School in Zambia. She contacted the teacher involved who jumped at the chance to take sixty shirts over to three schools where he has established Tag Rugby clubs. Apparently the home economics teacher was thrilled at the chance to get them to hem all the sleeves!
Nicky was then approached by St Peter’s Life Line http://www.stpeterslifeline.org.uk/who work in Kenya and are holding a fundraising dinner at Cobham in December if we could let them have some shirts to auction on the evening- Twenty of the smaller sizes and a few larger ones for the coaches are already in Kenya as and it is hoped they will inspire donations at the dinner.
We are awaiting photos for a third tranche of shirts which have been donated back to past youth sponsor Samoa tourist Board who were thrilled to take them as they have been donated to a club on the islands.
Thanks to Ian Thomas who is responsible for our shop for facilitating and of course our wonderful sponsors current and past who are now truly international
