Cobham RFC's 1st XV squad play their opening home game of the season tomorrow (Saturday 9 September), with Medway the visitors to Fairmile Lane.
Director of Rugby, Billy Davison has named a side with four debutants and also includes 13 players who have come through the youth pathway into the senior team. It is also great to see Club Captain Ryan Saunders playing alongside his brother, ex-Quins scrum half Niall, for the first time in Cobham colours.
Medway won away at Old Alleynians 31-17 last weekend, so will travel to Cobham with a spring in their step. They join the league after being relegated last season from Regional 1 South East. Cobham last played Medway during the 2021/22 season, their promotion season, and defeated them at the end of the season, after they had secured promotion.
Kick-off is 3.00pm and you can also take in some of the weekend’s World Cup games on the big screen. Also tomorrow, a Cobham XV travel locally to Old Pauline’s; kick-off 2.00pm.
